Wika Temperature Transmitters

Temperature transmitters transform the input signal from a variety of sensors, including thermocouples, resistance sensors, and potentiometers, into a standard output signal (for example, 0–10 V or 4–20 mA). With digital temperature transmitters, a wide range of additional choices, like the error signalization or a measuring site identification, can be freely defined, in addition to the sensor type and the measurement span.

Description

These temperature transmitters are designed for universal use in plant and machine building, and also in the process industry. They offer high accuracy and excellent protection against electromagnetic influences (EMI). Via the WIKAsoft-TT configuration software and the model PU-548 programming unit, the model T15 temperature transmitters can be parameterised very easily, quickly and with a clear overview.

Besides the selection of the sensor type and the measuring range, the software enables the error signalling operation, damping, several measuring point descriptions and process adjustment to be stored. Furthermore, the WIKAsoft-TT software offers a line recording functionality where the temperature profile for the sensor connected to the T15 can be displayed.

The model T15 transmitter also has diverse supervisory functionality, such as the monitoring of the sensor wire resistance and sensor-break detection in accordance with NAMUR NE89 as well as monitoring of the measuring range. Moreover, these transmitters have comprehensive cyclic
self-monitoring functionality.

Applications

  • Process industry
  • Machine building and plant construction

Special features

  • Model OTMT84: PROFIBUS®PA profile 3.02
  • Model OTMT85: FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus H1
  • Explosion-protected version Ex ia (intrinsically safe/FISCO) and Ex ec available

Description

The models OTMT84 and OTMT85 temperature transmitters with FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus or PROFIBUS®PA communication feature a universal input for temperature measurements with resistance thermometers, thermocouples, resistance sensors and voltage sources, which are possible with or without customer-specific linearisation. Differential, average or redundancy temperature measurements can be realised.

The temperature transmitters are characterised by their reliability, long-term stability, high accuracy and extended diagnostic options.

For FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus, the OTMT85 is available with LAS functionality (Link Active Scheduler) and PID controller. These functionalities allow for master-independent regulations in the field instrument.

The models OTMT84, OTMT85 temperature transmitters have a polarity-independent bus connection. Due to their small dimensions, the temperature transmitters are suitable for mounting into form B connection heads in accordance with DIN EN 50446.

The temperature transmitters are delivered with a factory configuration or configured according to customer specifications within the given limits.

Applications

  • Plant construction
  • Power engineering
  • Heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration

Special features

    • Versions for Pt100 / Pt1000 or thermocouples
    • Output 0 ... 10 V, 3-wire (T91.10) or 4 ... 20 mA, 2-wire (T91.20)
    • Error signalling in the event of sensor break
    • High accuracy
    • Compact and value for money

Description

The analogue temperature transmitters of the T91 model series are matched to the specific requirements of industry. Depending on the output signal, they are particularly suitable for direct connection to evaluation instruments with voltage or current inputs such as PLC's or AD conversion cards in PC's.

The temperature transmitters convert the temperaturedependent change in resistance of resistance thermometers or the temperature-dependent voltage change in thermocouples into a 0 ... 10 V or 4 ... 20 mA output signal. With these standardised signals, the measured temperature values can be transmitted simply and safely.

The temperature transmitters of the T91 model series are fixed-range transmitters which are supplied with the required measuring ranges in line with the customer's requirements. A later fine adjustment of the zero point and the span can be made with potentiometers once fitted.

The T91.10 head-mounted transmitters can be located in any form B DIN connection head, while the T91.20 head-mounted transmitters also use form J connection heads.

Applications

  • Plant construction
  • Process engineering
  • General industrial applications
  • Energy and power plant technology
  • Chemical industry, oil and gas

Special features

  • Robust case designs
  • Numerous connection options
  • Large selection of temperature transmitters can be fitted
  • Explosion-protected versions

Description

Field cases of this series are available in various case variants. Plastic, stainless steel and aluminium versions can be specified. They can be combined with a large number of temperature transmitters.

Direct wall mounting is the standard fixing method for these field cases. An optional pipe mounting kit is also available for fitting to pipes with a diameter of 1 ... 2".

Applications

  • For measuring the relative humidity and temperature ofgaseous media in ventilation and air-conditioning systems

Special Features

  • Electrical output signal DC 0 ... 10 V or 4 … 20 mA
  • Modbus® output signal
  • Simple mounting
  • Compact and robust design
  • Maintenance-free

Description

The model A2G-70 ventilation duct sensor is a relativehumidity sensor with an integrated temperaturemeasurement, suitable for direct mounting on circularventilation pipes or rectangular ventilation ducts.

The adjustable mounting flange enables a quick installation. The illuminated display provides good readability, even froma distance. The model A2G-70 has a screwless cover forrapid wiring and commissioning.

The measurement of relative humidity and the airtemperature as the basis of demand-orientated control/regulation is gaining ever more importance in the ventilationand air-conditioning industry. The model A2G-70 registersthe relative humidity and the temperature of the air with acapacitive sensor. The sensor signals for both measurementparameters are transmitted to the control/regulation orbuilding automation with analogue output signals (0 ... 10 V or 4 … 20 mA) or digital Modbus® protocol.

Applications

For the measurement of the temperature, carbon dioxide
(CO2) and relative humidity of room air and in ventilation
systems

Special features

  • Electrical output signal, DC 0 … 10 V, 4 … 20 mA or Modbus®
  • Touchscreen
  • Integrated switching output

Description

The model A2G-200 control panel with integrated room sensor was developed specifically for requirements in the ventilation and air-conditioning industry. Different versions measure the key parameters of relative humidity, room air temperature and carbon dioxide (CO2).

The large touch LC display makes the operation and readability easy and clear. The integrated switching output enables a direct control command to higher-level systems or can be used for the direct switching on of a ventilation/air-conditioning unit or fan. For this, the switch relay can be configured with all three parameters (relative humidity, ambient air temperature and CO2).

The measuring results are transmitted with an analogue output signal (0 ... 10 V or 4 ... 20 mA) or digitally via Modbus®output.

To prevent incorrect operation or manipulation, the LC display can be locked via setting a jumper on the PCB and then only has the function of a display and measuring instrument.
