Description

Instrument construction
The model UPT-2x process transmitter has been developed for applications which require an intelligent sensor. Particularly the integrated temperature compensation makes the process transmitter interesting for a wide range of applications.

The measuring cell is made of stainless steel 316L or of a combination with high-quality Elgiloy®. For specific requirements, further special materials are available.

The case is rotatable by 330° and the LC display can be mounted in different positions, displaceable in 90° steps. The LC display is easy to read in any mounting position, even from a distance of up to 5 m.

HART®protocol
The process transmitter can be installed both in applications using analogue technique and modern systems communicating via the HART®protocol.

Via the display and operating module or the HART®interface this process transmitter can be configured directly on site or remotely via a process control system.

Turndown
An adjustable turndown (20:1) allows to register exact process values with optimised limits of the measuring

Description

With its 4 ... 20 mA, 4 ... 20 mA HART®, PROFIBUS®PA or FOUNDATION Fieldbus™ output signals, combined with either intrinsic safety or flameproof enclosure ignition protection type (in accordance with ATEX and IECEx), the model IPT-2x is ideally suited to applications with the highest demands on the measurement technology.

Versatile in application
As a result of the available measuring ranges of 0 ... 0.1 bar to 0 ... 4,000 bar [0 ... 0.15 to 0 ... 60,000 psi] and a freely selectable turndown, the instrument can be used in almost any application. The large number of process connections and the extensive possibilities offered by the metallic measuring cell enable use in all industries.
There are seven different case variants available, and thus it is possible to select a variant suited to every operating environment.

The case itself can be rotated through 330° and is available in plastic, aluminium and stainless steel.
An electropolished stainless steel case (316L) is available to meet the high demands of the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Easy configuration and operation
Service and configuration at the instrument is carried out using the optional display and operating module, which can be fitted in four positions. The operating menu has a simple and self-explanatory structure and has nine selectable languages as standard. Alternatively, the operating parameters can be set using the PACTware™ free and non-proprietary configuration software. An instrumentspecific DTM enables easy integration into corresponding process control systems.

  • Process engineering
  • Pulp and paper industry
  • Water and wastewater
  • Hazardous areas

Special features

  • Ex protection per ATEX and IECEx
  • For applications to SIL 2 (SIL 3)
  • Dry ceramic measuring cell, high overload safety
  • Seven different case variants

Description

With its 4 ... 20 mA, 4 ... 20 mA HART®, PROFIBUS®PA or FOUNDATION Fieldbus™ output signals, combined with either intrinsic safety or flameproof enclosure ignition protection type (in accordance with ATEX and IECEx), the model CPT-2x is ideally suited to applications with the highest demands on measurement technology.

Robust and highly accurate
The capacitive ceramic measuring cell delivers especially accurate measured values, in particular with small measuring ranges, and thus has a particularly high overload. As a result of the special sealing concept, operation in almost all industries and applications is possible without difficulties.

The operating menu has a simple and self-explanatory structure and has thirteen selectable languages as standard. Alternatively, the operating parameters can be set using the PACTware™ free and non-proprietary configuration software. An instrument-specific DTM enables easy integration into corresponding process control systems.

Applications

  • Chemical and petrochemical industries
  • Process engineering
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Food and beverage industry
  • Hazardous areas

Special features

  • Simple, uncomplicated installation
  • Mounting possible without diaphragm seal
  • Elimination of capillaries, that can easily kink
  • For applications to SIL 2 (SIL 3)
  • Can be combined with two different designs of transmitters from model IPT-2x and/or model CPT-2x

Description

In the process industry, differential pressure measurement using primary and secondary circuits has several advantages over conventional differential pressure methods. The measuring locations, which are usually several metres apart, are connected via a flexible and easily routed cable.
This eliminates the need for capillaries, which are complex to install and susceptible to temperature changes.

Flexible configuration
Two identical or two different instruments can be combined. The prerequisite is that one of the instruments is used as the primary instrument.
This processes the measured values supplied by both individual instruments. An internal calculation determines the pressure difference and relays it to the controller via the current loop or the bus system. The secondary instrument only supplies the measured values to the primary instrument via a bus line.

The possibilities for combination and the flexible connection often enable a configuration in which diaphragm seals are no longer needed for process separation. For example, a flush system can be used at the bottom of the vessel, while an open process connection in the upper part of the tank poses no problem for measurement in the superimposed gas.

Insensitive to temperature fluctuations
Especially with vessels that are often outdoors, it is problematic when the sun shines on the capillaries. An increase in pressure due to the effects of temperature often falsifies the measuring result.
The cable used for electronic differential pressure measurement has almost no influence on the measuring result when heated.

  • Process engineering
  • Chemical industry
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Food and beverage industry
  • Machine building and plant construction

Description

The model DPT-20, with its 4 ... 20 mA, 4 ... 20 mA HART®, FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus or PROFIBUS®PA output signals, combined with the intrinsic safety or flameproof enclosure ignition protection type, is ideally suited for application in appropriate systems. The development of the transmitter in accordance with the demands of SIL (safety integrated level) IEC 61508 also makes it applicable for plants with special safety requirements.

Versatile in application
The model DTP-20 is suitable for many industrial measuring requirements, such as flow measurement using differential pressure transducers, level measurement in open or closed tanks or filter and pump monitoring. With mounted diaphragm seals, the model DTP-20 is also suitable for harsh process conditions. As a result of the available measuring ranges from -10 ... +10 mbar to -16 ... +16 bar [-0.15 ... +0.15 psi to -240 ... +240 psi] and a static pressure limitation of up to 400 bar [5,800 psi], the instrument can be used in almost any application. The internal digital signal processing, combined with proven sensors, guarantees high accuracy and the best long-term stability.
