SAMPI metres have a special design that almost eliminates stream shear action, balances pressures in the metre chamber, and guarantees a negligible pressure loss across the metre. The SAMPI metre is made up of a housing in which three synchronised rotors rotate without making any metal-to-metal contact with either one another or the inside surface of the housing. This prevents internal parts from wearing out and extends their lifespan. Instead of the wiping action of mechanical pieces, a stationary boundary layer of liquid performs the hydraulic sealing.
