Safety Break-Aways & Dry-Break Couplings

DRY-BREAK Systems are used in any application where the accidental spillage of liquids must be avoided. Emco Wheaton invented the term "DRY-BREAK" in the 1950s and it has become recognized in the industry as the leading brand of couplings that allow for spill-free disconnect of the two components. The two components are referred to as the "coupler" or "hose unit" and the "adapter" or "tank unit". The combination of Emco Wheaton, TODO DRY-BREAK couplings and TODO SAFETY BREAK AWAYS gives the end user the world's greatest range of styles, materials, and working conditions.

Ali Yaqoob Trading Co. is an authorized full service distributor of both Emco Wheaton and TODO products. Purchasing through an authorized distributor is the only way to ensure that:

Safety Break Away

Designed specifically to minimize spillage and damage associated with drive/pull away incidents. Also allows rapid removal of the mobile tankage in emergency situations. The coupling automatically senses an excessive load, closes its valves and then permits disconnection. The coupling has exceptionally high flow rates / low pressure drop and operate independently of shut off safety systems and do not require an external power source. These couplings are easy to handle and do not require removal from the hose/loading arm for resetting or maintenance. These safety breakaways boast extremely quick closing time, with minimal loss of media.

TODO-MATIC® couplings

TODO-MATIC® range of DRY-BREAK® couplings offer advanced fluid handling solutions to a diverse range of industries. Major offshore exploration, chemical, pharmaceutical and petro chemical companies rely on TODO-MATIC® couplings to safely transfer their most aggressive or valuable liquids. In sizes from 1" to 6" and a wide range of material options, TODO-MATIC® DRY-BREAK® couplings Compatible with NATO STANAG 3756. Designed for safe and easy use with minimum operator intervention, the installation of TODO-MATIC® couplings reduces spillage to virtually zero. It dramatically improves both operational and fugitive emission performance and efficiency. TODO-MATIC® couplings reduce the possibility of human error in transfer operations and offer an unbeatable combination of technical, safety and performance features.

TODO-GAS® couplings

TODO-GAS® couplings are specifically designed for the safe transfer of LPG (typically Propane / Butane) in both liquid and vapor phases. The materials of construction and component design are specified to recognize the unique properties of LPG and terminal handling characteristics. Ultra low release on disconnection not only improves safety but also satisfies even the most stringent of environmental standards. Typical emission reduction is greater than 99% compared to existing thread based couplings. TODO-GAS® couplings remove the human error element from LPG transfer operations by ensuring that the valves are closed before disconnection is possible. Both TODO-MATIC® and TODO-GAS® couplings offer the lowest fugitive emission volumes available in the world.

Aviation couplings

TODO® aviation fuel transfer equipment is the first choice for safe and spillage free bunkering of aviation fuels. Used in commercial, offshore and military applications, TODO® aviation fuel transfer couplings are built to take the strains of rapid fueling activities in the most demanding of applications. Based on proven TODO-MATIC® coupling designs, TODO® aviation fuel transfer couplings offer high flow fuel delivery without the cost and complexity normally associated with ISO45 under-wingconnections.

Emco Wheaton DRY-BREAK Couplers & Adapters

Emco Wheaton DRY-BREAK couplers and DRY-BREAK adapters are designed for total safety. Fluid cannot flow until the Emco Wheaton coupler has been locked into position on an Emco Wheaton Adapter and the valve opened. The coupler can only be disconnected from the adapter when the valve has been closed. Since product loss is thereby eliminated, possible hazards associated with leakage at disconnect are no longer a concern. DRY-BREAK couplers and adapters are rated for a working pressure of 85 psi (PN 6) and are available in sizes ranging from 1-inch up to 3-inch in diameter with a variety of body construction and seal materials available.
